A firm that fulfils every boy and girl's dream of being an
engine driver has steamed into Medway.

RailSimulator.com has created seven jobs in Chatham Historic Dockyard, with the prospect of 15 more to come.

Its latest product RailWorks2 Train
Simulator is in the world's top 10 of downloaded games, selling
40,000 copies since its launch in October.

Locate in Kent, the agency that promotes the county as a great
place for business, helped the Guildford-based company find
suitable property and secure finance. The company has moved into
The Joiners Shop - a specialist centre for creative businesses.

Its team develops the simulation
software to create virtual train sets, allowing gamers to "step
inside" cabs and "drive" trains on famous lines in the UK, North
and South America and Europe.

Players can take the controls of a
variety of engines, from nostalgic steam trains including The
Flying Scotsman to the latest high-speed electric trains.

Managing director Paul Jackson said: "We wanted to expand our
business in the South East and Kent was the natural choice, due to
its high-speed transport links, skilled graduates and fantastic
facilities.

"We have also already made some valuable links with The
University of Kent and the University for the Creative Arts."
