3 lorries wrecked in blaze

THREE lorries were completely destroyed early today in a fire at Maritime Transport on the Isle of Grain, near Rochester.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the transport firm in Grain Road at around 1.50am.

Crews from Strood, Hoo and Grain fire stations spent around two hours fighting the blaze and moving other lorries out of the path of flames.

Fire chiefs say that the cause of the fire is not yet known.
