Village wants no truck with lorries

More weight is being added to a campaign to ban heavy lorries from the village of Yalding.

A poster campaign in the village’s narrow streets and in shop and house windows, calling for lorries weighing more than 17 tonnes to be banned, will be followed by a rally on Sunday, June 15, at the village end of The Lees starting at 11.30am.

A petition is being raised urging Kent County Council to impose the ban.

Anyone who would like to sign the petition can contact parish council chairman Cllr Geraldine Brown on 01622 814222.
