Rush-hour delays were expected this morning after a truck became engulfed in flames on one of the busiest routes into Maidstone.
The vehicle caught fire on the south-bound carriageway of the A249 at the bottom of Detling Hill.
Crews from Maidstone fire station were at the scene. It is believed the driver of the lorry managed to park and get out before the blaze took hold.
